I have Logitech Media Server installed on an old O2 Joggler. It runs Ubuntu 11.04 (natty) and is generally good.
A couple of times I've been unable to connect and found that the Joggler had frozen and needed a power cycle. I thought it might be a good idea to have a look at what's running, since all I need this box to do is feed my Squeezeboxes and display some photos on its screensaver. I'm looking at the System Monitor application. It says I have two Atom Z520 processors running at 1.33GHz. It shows both CPUs running between 50% and 100% and often at the upper end of this. Long stretches with both maxed at 100%. In the processes tab I see gnome-system-montor and vino-server taking up bits of CPU but no mention of LMS. I think these two are the system monitor and the vnc server that I use to control the Joggler. What I'm trying to do is clean up the box so that there's nothing runnning except LMS and a VNC server. What's the best way to clean the system up? How do I know what can and can't be safely removed? M. Is there a better forum to ask these sort of questions? I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to Unix... -- InTheBath ------------------------------------------------------------------------ InTheBath's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15679 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92503 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
