I've found the quickest way to get 7.7.2 up and running. Runs just fine on 9.0 and 10-current freebsd, but requires a scorched earth methodology.
1. pkg_delete any earlier servers (but save your /usr/local/etc/rc.d/squeezeboxserver and slimserv user/group) 2. pkg_delete all p5-* ports and ffmpeg 3. pkg_delete the existing perl install and rm -rf any /usr/local/lib/perl cruft. 4. install the lang/perl5.8 ports 5. Download the precompiled 7.7.x for FreeBSD (at this time it's) http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.7/sc/33769/logitechmediaserver-7.7.2-33769-FreeBSD.tgz 6. Extract to a location on your hard-drive. 7. Chown -R slimserv:slimserv the extracted location 8. Edit /usr/local/etc/rc.d/squeezeboxserver to match your install location. 9. Start and configure (you will have to re-index reconfigure some stuff) -- darkmark ------------------------------------------------------------------------ darkmark's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39079 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88765 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
