Every time you reboot, the kernel name of all your devices is liable to change. With the recent craze for concurrent boot process, the problem have become even more acute. Your apps can't follow those changes, the only possible way is to set a well-known name and use it for the system and in the apps preferences.
Customizing fstab is the easiest way but works only for disk drives. Custom udev rules are nerdier but they allow to pin almost any kind of device to a well-known name and/or place. (you can keep researching on udev for later :) ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96735 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
