You are right, but systemd sometimes sometimes "eats" the messages that
are normally printed out to the console.

By the way, I also compiled the CPAN stuff on a 32bit machine (to ensure
it's not a 64bit problem).
But the 5.16/i386-linux-thread-multi work the same way as the 64bit
version.
