Thanks Triode for making this, really pleased that I can use your Spotify plugin now on my TV sound system as well as through my hardware players.
One problem though is (same as Squeezeslave) the audio device is kept open the whole time that Squeezelite is running. Any chance of changing that, to close it when nothing is actually playing? Then I can usefully share the alsa iec958 device and not fudge some way of stopping/starting Squeezelite when I want to watch TV (or struggling with dmix configuration for multiple sample rates, which I can't figure out).
