Ralphy, I followed your instructions, depmod -ae returned: "WARNING: -e
needs -E or -F"

I tried also depmod -av

Anyway, after reboot I tested with the regular squeezelite-0.9beta5 and
there is still distortion.
Both SqueezePlay and SqueezeSlave are free of distortion.
