Interested in feedback on what a grid view could look like - here's a mocked up album view display. Is this a interesting why to browse items using jivelite? I think it potentially makes the use of a 1080p monitor more worthwhile. (the main issue to me is that it makes the menus with no icons look odd now - so need to think about how they could look)
I've successfully built this on OSX - and it's looking really cool! If only my artwork was up to the challenge...
Obviously browsing the album collection for the first time would be pretty slow, as artwork is not cached yet. Would you be interested in some server side hook to register an additional resolution to be pre-cached during the scan? I've always hated the hard-coded list of pre-cached image resolutions (which includes an obsolete version for old iPeng versions...). I'd like to make this a preference (exposed to the user or not), to which clients can add their set of resizing parameters. What exact parameters are you using for the artwork?
