I got my wandboard yesterday, so I started with R4 - never had R3.

As you wrote there is not much to configure. Everything else works -
even the server.

I do not have an extra card, otherwise I would have tried that.

As for wifi the only thing you have to do is choose your network, put in
password save & restart and then boot up the device without the lan
cable (powering off inbetween, just to make sure)

Even a braindead person could cope with this, so after fiddling all day
there is definitely soemthing wrong with the wifi setup - or the
wandboard wifi is for some strange reason incompatible to my router.

Setting up wifi on raspberry pi is even a bit more complicated, since it
has an extra dongle - but that was done in a minute.

All the SBs, ithingies etc. are working and were also no trouble setting
up. Just writing this, so I do not come accross as a complete imbecile
(there were moments when I myself was wondering...)
