I like the I Musici recordings and all this period instrument fachism in classical music, sometimes drives me nuts ;-) Ok, having Bach played by the Berlin Philharmonics in full swing as Karajan sometimes did, is slightly bizarre (yet fun), but all this original instrument stuff with conductors who just got off the phone where Bach told them exactly what his music should sound like, is sometimes headache inducing - plus often also not correct. Music is alive and interpreters should do with it as they please, the composer would probably also use modern instruments. It all depends on finding people who want to listen to it and if it gets the message and emotions across. Sorry for this OT - but a player with a good DAC can actually help make the music come alive in our livingrooms, so let us hope for the very best with our Community player (back on topic again). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Squeezemenicely's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41812 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98544 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
