Here's something unusual. I bought a HiFiMeDIY Sabre USB DAC. It did
not run at 24/96 with default settings (squeezelite -n WorkSqueeze -o
hw:CARD=DAC,DEV=0 -d all=debug) I had to give it a (-a 20:4:24_3:1) to
get it to work at 24/96 or it would default to 16/48.

So yesterday I get another HiFiMeDIY Sabre USB DAC and set up the
defaults during the Squeezelite installation (no -d or -a) stuff and it
works 24/96 out of the box.

Plug in the first DAC and it DOESN'T work unless I pass the specific
commands -a 20:4:24_3:1

Weird. I don't know if there is different hardware there or what. The
one that needs the extra commands had an uptime of 10 days and sounded
GREAT when I removed it. The new one has an uptime of a day now and
sounds great.

Wonder if there are two actual hardware versions of that DAC?

I'm not prepared to do any deep digging. They both work, sound great,
aren't crashing anything.

Just wanted to document it in this thread in case some other person
comes here looking for answers.

John
