Steen, I did experience a slight volume increase when applying the command you recommended above, however I still find the volume to be very low on all my picoreplayers. I did a direct comparison of one Pi with a simple PCM2704 DAC, one Pi via analog output, and my iPhone, all synced to the same LMS stream. The two picoreplayers have about the same volume level that is quite low. The iPhone is considerably louder.
I'm wondering how this could be, whether it's a hardware limitation of the Pi or if it's in software somewhere.
