Hi garym999 and Johnyb62 I can't reproduce your findings. It might take a while before LMS detects the new player (with a different MAC address but within a minute it should be there).
However I also think that you don't test it in the right way. a proper start string for squeezelite on the raspberry using analog audio should contain: -o sysdefault:CARD=ALSA -a 80:4 and then you are free to use -n <something> and - -m <something> I have just tested it I and don't find any stuttering with these -o and -a strings, no matter the -m and -n strings.
