Yes Clive you are correct. I did remove the Toslink transceiver from the Wandboard and placed it on a small separate board along with a coax output. So I re-used the existing transceiver. The Toslink SPDIF standard allows for maximum 96 kHz / 24 bits - 2 channel audio. This would be a bandwidth of about 12 Mbit/s. (The transmitter on the Wandboard supports up to 16 Mbit/s.)
