Just for info, I am one of quite a few using a headless Vortexbox appliance as a server, so on Fedora 16. I now use Local Player (squeezelite embedded) on the VB rather than squeezelite from the Vortexbox repo, and also squeezelite on a 64-bit ubuntu desktop, on a 32-bit xubuntu laptop, and occasionally on my partner's 64-bit windows 7 PC. So one house, 4 different flavours.
LMS 7.8 on VortexBox Midi, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Touch with EDO on Ethernet, coax out to a Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC. Wireless Xubuntu laptop controls server using Chromium. Meridian Explorer USB DAC to listen to LMS via Squeezelite on Vortexbox & other PCs as required. Spare Touch in loft! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PasTim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
