Thank you (and Clive), That has certainly helped. I needed to raise the silence period to a full second for it to completely do the job, which seems somewhat excessive but certainly liveable with. I can't imagine I'll be playlisting many changes between PCM <> DSD, so the extra seconds gap is fine - sure better than missing the start off songs.
