The reset button on the carrier board, is a hard reset, akin to
unplugging the power and plugging it back in. ie. it's not a nice and
controlled shutdown, whereby services are stopped, and file systems are
nicely unmounted. For the most part, the ext4 journalling file system
that is being used for the root partition, will and does recover from
this, without issue, but sooner or later...... Anyway, Bruno has
provided an example of triggering a "controlled" software shutdown using
an external switch....
