Hi, i didnt use picoplayer just a ordinary raspbian. I realized that the Power Adapter thats used for the Pi is very very important ! Since i use an old "original" Apple Iphone 3 / Ipad 1 Powerplug on my wifi connected Raspberrys id never ever have some problems anymore. A Pi without wifi works well with some chinese samsung powerplugs, if you add a wifi adaptor it may run like before. So always check for a good (>.900 amp) Powerplug if you using wifi!
