Rob P,
Thank you very much for testing. So far, my interpretation is that
performance seems good enough. 

It takes a while to start the first track, though. Not a problem in
itself, but I guess this also happens when one switches between tracks
that are not on the same album (when the player cannot pre-fetch the
beginning of the next track)? 

Hopefully, the additional upsampling will not be a heavy burden. Perhaps
John has an estimate.
