Thanks a mill for doing this Triode (and esp for working on the
weekend:-)).

First thing that I see on an SSH in as root and running ./soa-update.sh
logitechmediaserver is

"*** Please tell me who you are
Run
git config --global.user.email "[email protected]"
git config --global user.name "Your name"

to set your account's default identity.
Omit -- global to set the identity only in this repository.

fatal: unable to auto-detect email address (got root@alarm.(none)')"

then it goes ahead and makes package logitechmediaserver 7.8.0-4
and thereafter goes about its business downloading what it needs (about
496 megs of files), making packages, and doing a bucketload and a half
of work (bucket being the size of the Shard)

at the end of which all is well. I loaded up the Open Squeeze interface,
set a hostname, fixed ip address, set the storage area for my USB hard
drive with type ntfs...all worked fine.

Thanks again Triode:-)
