The reason for this is for me only partly known. First of all the linux used for the raspberry have this 48kHz upper limit for outputting via HDMI. So therefore I have changed the module to accept higher bitrates before building the module. Next I build the piCorelayer and if you use the version 1.15bi you will be able to output up to 192kHz via HDMI. You can get it from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/picoreplayer/files/insitu/piCorePlayer1.15bi/piCorePlayer1.15bi.img/download However, when I made piCorePlayer version 1.16 I did exactly the same, but now it only output max 48kHz via HDMI. Frankly I have no idea why it doesn't still output up to 192khz via HDMI - something else must have been changed between the kernels used in version 1.15bi and 1.16. But if you need higher bitrate via HDMI, then please try piCorePlayer1.15bi Steen piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM.
