I downloaded and tried the new 1.18 version and i noticed one thing - player with 1.18 need much more time after boot to connect to LMS, or LMS (7.9 nightly) need much longer to find the player. I added the ip of the server in the squeezelite config and now everything is OK, but i never observed this kind of behaviour before. I have normal home network with one subnet and only few network devices.
