I suspect it just needs re-building on a Deb/Ubuntu machine that is using the libav fork. There is a Debian package for squeezelite. I wonder if that has been built with ffmpeg support against libav? Unfortunately, Deb/Ubuntu isn't really my are of expertise. I suspect Triode will be along later today to point you in the right direction.
