I'm playing around with a cheap USB DAC / Amp (Topping VX1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H6XDE4S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for the very first time. I've set squeezelite's audio device in the command line to "hw:CARD=VX1,DEV=0" which in the listing is described as "VX1, USB Audio - Direct hardware device without any conversions".
For the most part, this device gives decent results. I'm hearing occasional "popping" though. I'm sure the solution to this is burred somewhere in this thread. But my search-fu seems to have deserted me.
