I received my Hifiberry Dac (not the + version) today and am very happy with it. I connected a pair of vintage (1970s) Canton LE 400 I got for 35 on ebay and it was all up and running with PiCorePlayer in minutes. I tried a 12V 3A and a 12V 2.2A power supply and both work perfectly. Max. Volume on both is more than my ears can survive. Around 50-60% is comfortable. Power draw for the whole thing is 4.0-4.2W which is amazing. Also, finally less cable clutter. Now I just need some kind of enclosure.
Not sure about the DAC being different, I zhought it was the same?
