Thanks Alastair, First off the scripts are basic scripts that will run on piCorePlayer with little or no modification. Most of the scripts I looked at are just shell scripts, although wiringPi was used in one, it is unnecessary. I don't really understand why you need the extra hardware. All you need is a pushbutton, a led and a few resistors.
