I found a *workaround*! If I enable "crossover" (1 second) in the players audio setup page of LMS and also enable "activate intelligent crossover", everything plays ok. There is a short crossover beween two arbitrary songs and there seems to be no crossover beween consecutive songs of an album. Therre are no garbled sounds or glitches between the songs anymore. Great! @triode: Do you have an possible explanation for this strange behaviour? Am I possibly the only one not using the "crossover" feature? Btw: It would be great, if this crossover functionality would also be applied when skipping in a song or to another song...
