I successfully set up a RPi B+ with 1.19 and can play music from my LMS server (wired). I'm having some audio issues however with both the HDMI and standard RCA analog out. I've tried to search for info but am getting a bit lost with all the info here. 1. The HDMI out is into a pre/pro with a high quality DAC in my main system. I'm getting random drop out's that that are about 1 second long and spaced anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds apart, with no particular pattern. There also seems to be some intermittent background pops. I have changed cables and changed HDMI inputs on the pre/pro with the same result. 2. I then plugged the Pi into my small system to try the basic analog out, into powered bookshelf speakers. The general sound quality is OK but there is a steady background static hiss that changes with volume. It's loud enough to be noticeable at normal volume levels when the music stops. No dropouts though.
I have tried changing the alsamixer volume from the default 50% to 80% and 100%, with no change. That's about the extent of my linux skills! Any suggestions on either situation? Could the RPi be flakey? It's a B+ rev 10 board. I have SB Touch units playing in both locations with no problems but would like to expand player locations. Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jfo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
