I have had a similar setup and I didn't find a good software solution to solve the problem. The problem for me was that to run squeezelite, I have to turn off the external sound card (dac) in pavucontrol (probably the sound configuration of the pulseaudio server) . Once squeezelite launched at boot time, I could not turn on the dac in pavucontrol to play kodi. So I didn't have sound on kodi. Perhaps a solution is uninstall pulseaudio server. but I didn't try this because I didn't know how kodi will interact with Alsa without pulseaudio. In Final I moved Kodi on a raspberry B+ (with the Squeezeplug installer) that is working fine and the sound of kodi comes throught the TV that is plugged to the DAC with optical cord.
