I'm not exactly what and how you did there - git-technically wise. You were able to push a commit to our repository? But then it wouldn't show up in any of our branches... I'm utterly confused, trust me.
What you should have done is clone the repository, apply the change to your clone (best in its own branch), then submit a pull request.
