I was using the DAC in my Marantz via USB, but found that piCoreplayer needed restarting each time after the Marantz switched itself off, if not used for half an hour. So, I decided to add the Hifiberry Digi+ so that I could use the coax connection instead, as I do for my SBT. If this seems a bit 'unnecessary', then consider that actually I don't even need another squeezebox at all, but just wanted to make a potential direct replacement for the SBT (which, as I've said, I connect to the amp via coax), for the heck of it / on the off-chance that the SBT dies. And the Digi+ is only about 30 quid. Living room: SB Touch, with coax to: Marantz PM7005, TDL RTL3 speakers. Dining room: SB Boom. Kitchen: SB Radio (1/3), with battery. Bedroom 1: SB Radio (2/3), no battery. Bedroom 2: SB3 (1/2), AE 2.1. speakers. Bedroom 3: Slim Devices SB3 (2/2), Edirol MA-15D powered monitors. Bathroom: SB Radio (3/3) (in white), with (and running on) battery.
