flysurfer from max2play has provided a patch to "feed" the rotary volume
changes back to lms.

You need to add -Q along with -V Digital on the squeezelite command
line, see -? for full details.

There's a build on pcp beta files that includes this feature, the
ALSASYNC option.

To update this on pcp, ssh into the player.

Stop squeezelite.

sudo pkill squeezelite-armv6hf

Download the file, replacing the current squeezelite binary.

cd /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce
wget -O squeezelite-armv6hf
http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/picoreplayer/beta/squeezelite-armv6hf-ffmpeg-alsasync
chmod 775 squeezelite-armv6hf

Goto the pcp web gui and add -Q to squeezelite settings tab various
input field at the bottom. You also need -V Digital if it's not already
there.

Save the settings and then restart squeezelite when asked.

Now changing the digital volume in alsamixer or moving the rotary pot.

The patch it attached, I have not included it in my repository.
