I do understand that the situation currently can be a bit confusing. I don't know of a simple response to your problem. Because it also depends on Perl versions etc.
It's probably easiest to build your binaries, then run LMS with --d_startup enabled to get the maximum output from the initialization. And go from there: if you see a version mis-match, check what is being built in slimserver-vendor. Make sure you copy both the binary AND the .pm of the modules.
