I should have thought of that. Running squeezelite from the command line indeed gave me the error: the -G and -S options cannot be used together. The reason I was doing that was that I was not aware that squeezelite gave an argument to the on/off script with the status, so i tried reading the GPIO port set by the -G option to determine the status. With the example you gave this is no longer necessary, as I now forward the argument of the shell script to the python script where I can handle it. So disabling the -G option did the trick. Maybe you can tell me where I could have found this info? I've been googling for squeezelite, squeezelite command line options, etc, but the fact that the shell script is called with a status argument was totally new to me. Always good to know where I can find stuff like this, although coming here is hard to beat I guess :) Thanks again!
