1) Assuming you are coming from Windows, It would be best to format the
drive NTFS if you plan to use LMS on that rpi.   Insert the USB drive
into your Windows Computer and copy the MP3's to it.
2) Insert the USB stick onto your rpi
3) Everything you need will be on the On the pcp web interface on the
LMS tab, 
4) Install LMS
5) Install the additional file system support.
6) Now you can mount the Drive
7) I would then set LMS to save the cache to the mounted USB drive.
