Hi jclctr.

I don't have an absolute answer for you, but I would like to rule out
the wifi adapter. There seems to be a emc problem with the hifiberry
board which might give problems to the wifi function. Some have managed
this problem by using a fixed channel on the router - channel 10 seems
to be popular:

I think the best thing you could do is to try to connect your system
through a LAN cable. If everything then is working fine, you know that
it is somewhere in the wifi setup you have a problem.
