I have now installed cifs-utils :rolleyes:
Still had trouble getting it to recognise my share.
Turns out I had to use the escape code \040 for spaces in the share
name
So for anyone else wanting to do this my fstab line is as follows.

//xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa/Media\040(at\040fileserver1) /mnt/media cifs
username=*****,password=*****
