Your issue sounds like a network problem.

When you initially install piCorePlayer it automatically sets the
timezone, this requires internet access. Does your timezone get set
correctly? You can manually set this on the [Tweaks] page if there is an
issue.

As Raspberry Pi's don't have a clock, piCorePlayer sets the time via a
ntp server on the internet each time it starts. Again, on the [Tweaks]
page there is an option to set your preferred time server.

The default time of a most Linux systems is "Linux epoch" ie. January 1,
1970 (midnight UTC/GMT)
