before i read your reply, ralphy, i copied JoggleSkinApplet.lua from
max2play.
yeah, i was living dangerously following my intuitions and best guess,
but it did offer 1024x600 option.
and it looks just fine.

i also tried your suggestions but did not see the familiar Grid and
Touch options.
at present, i am also missing clocks, do not see the large icons
(instead they are grid lines) on the main page, etc.
i'm thinking i need to re-install jivelite.
what i have now is:

should it be? https://github.com/ralph-irving/jivelite.git

i tried uninstalling it but apt-get is not finding it.
what is the proper way to uninstall existing jivelite?
