understood. my issue with jivelite was in a setup where hotspot (only internet connection) was transient. there is also static ip-addr eth0 for a private lan use. problem #1 when raspberrypi came up without hotspot absent, jivelite failed to connect to localhost lms. solution was to add a 'dummy' router and add it as the gateway for eth0. problem #2 following #1, when i brought the mobile hotspot nearby, jivelite was ok with lms. but it could not go to internet, e.g., to spotify. solution was to specify metric of 100 for wlan0. my wish for jivelite is for it to try localhost when lms connection fails. i realize that typical setup jivelite was written for had lms running elsewhere on the lan. i may poke around at the source to see how easily this could be done. if it were so, i could maybe eliminate that always-on dummy router. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105301 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
