You are correct. on pCP I can only see a playback channel no input
channel. On an old VB (Fedora) I can see input channels.

NB. alsamixer is an annoying piece of software that won't work properly
in a Putty shell. F6 works but its about the only thing that does. You
need an attached keyboard and monitor to access F2, F3 etc - this isn't
limited to pCP it seems to be all *nix flavours.
