I have piCore on a Raspberry Pi. It seems that my external disk just died. I have to buy a new one. Having the HDD go to sleep between using it for music is important to save some lifetime and for noise concerns. The experiments I made some years ago showed that not all disks have a suitable sleep management mode possible to control from the RPi and piCore. Would you advice powered or not powered ones (the one I had was powered through the USB) ? Would you have references of suitable external HDD that would suit the mission ? Thanks for your help.
