It's a 1TB WD My Passport drive NTFS format. I had previously run the usual diagnostics on this drive and nothing unusual showed up. Just now however, simply deleting the files that won't read and replacing them with the original from the PC, bingo, picore will pick them up in Music Folder. But I had tried that before and it hadn't worked previously despite numerous attempts. It does sound a bit like an HDD issue do you think?
