I had tried recently to update from v5.0.0 to beta7 but was advised to
make a fresh image.
Seeing *The Moog*'s report I decided to try again.
I just tried this on a rpi3b running v5.0.1 (Standard install)
On first attempt I was advised to increase the space available, which I
did, upto 300MB.
Code:
--------------------
[ OK ] Successfully downloaded tce files.
[ OK ] Free space: 244112k - Required space: 12000k
--------------------
Install stalled
Code:
--------------------
./overlays/w5500.dtbo
./overlays/wittypi.dtbo
./README
./RELEASE
./bcm2708-rpi-zero.dtb
./bcm2709-rpi-2-b.dtb
./bcm2710-rpi-2-b.dtb
./bcm2710-rpi-3-b-plus.dtb
./bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb
./bcm2710-rpi-cm3.dtb
./bcm2711-rpi-4-b.dtb
./kernel419102.img
./kernel419102v7.img
./kernel419102v8.img
tar: write error: No space left on device
[ ERROR ] Error untarring boot tar. Result: 1
[ INFO ] Restoring old OS...
[ INFO ] Unmounting /mnt/mmcblk0p1...
--------------------
I increased the space to 500MB
Code:
--------------------
0:00:00 ETA
[ OK ] Successfully downloaded tce files.
[ OK ] Free space: 434176k - Required space: 12000k
--------------------
but it still failed to complete
Code:
--------------------

./overlays/w5500.dtbo
./overlays/wittypi.dtbo
./README
./RELEASE
./bcm2708-rpi-zero.dtb

./bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb
./bcm2710-rpi-cm3.dtb
./bcm2711-rpi-4-b.dtb
./kernel419102.img
./kernel419102v7.img
./kernel419102v8.img
