Thanks Paul, that was very helpful. Im a member of the tin foil hat brigade, so my home network is screwed down at the firewall level - the PiCorePlayer was not allowed external NTP (123) access hence it was not updating. Ive temporarily allowed external access for now, so this has solved the issue I was having with Paradise Radio/BBC iPlayer not streaming(time sensitive).
