Description to get piCorePlayer + Squeezelite running with ADAU1701
(Sure DAC):
…. (tested with: piCorePlayer6.0.0.img)
*********************************************************************************************
For wiring and ADAU1701 configuration see following description:

https://digital-audio-labs.jimdofree.com/english/raspberry-pi/adau1701-i2s-driver/
*********************************************************************************************
Following steps could be done on windows platform:
******
- Write piCorePlayer image to sd card
- To get wlan access to Raspberry Pi Zero Wh
…. - Rename “wpa_supplicant.conf.sample” to “wpa_supplicant.conf” (path
“pcp_boot/”)
…. - Change ssid and psk in “wpa_supplicant.conf” to needs of your wlan
- Copy following file to sd card
…. adau1701-i2s.dtbo (path “pcp_boot/overlays/“)
…. (adau1701-i2s.dtbo from following source works with piCorePlayer:
…...
https://github.com/fvzeppelin/ADAU1701-I2S-Audio-Driver-for-Raspberry-Pi)
- Change file content of “pcp_boot/config.txt”
…. - Search following line and comment with hash:
…...... #dtparam=audio=on
…. - Add the following line at the end of the file:
…...... dtoverlay=adau1701-i2s
******
Put sd card to Raspberry Pi and start it
Go to user interface of piCorePlayer
-> Squeezelite is not running.

Changes in menu “Squeezelite Settings”:
- Audio output device settings: Analog audio
- Change Squeezelite settings:
….. Name of your player (-n) -> Your speaker name
….. Output setting (-o) -> sysdefault:CARD=Output
….. ALSA setting (<b>:<p>:<f>:<m>:<d>) -> 80::24:1:
….. Max sample rate (-r) -> 48000
….. Upsample setting (-R) -> vLX
(….. Other fields in Change Squeezelite settings could be empty)

After saving, Squeezelite is running and could be used with LMS.
*********************************************************************************************
Login into piCorePlayer with ssh client:
login as: tc
password: piCore (default)

Execute “aplay -l”, you should see the following output:

tc@piCorePlayer:~$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
