Good stuff. Never thought to use gpio-key kernel driver, although you don't get short press, long press capability.
There is a script /usr/local/bin/readall.sh This is a gpio read script, similar to what wiringpi used to output, but this is a shell script using a different application to be fully rpi4 compatable.
