I recently revamped my little system with a new amp and a second pair of speakers to mess about with. At the same time I did a fresh install of pCP on my Audiophonics Raspdac LTE I-Sabre ES9038Q2M (rPi 3B+). All went well as usual - I set the volume level to -4db in 'card control' as I normally would, and enabled the Alsa equalizer in 'tweaks', left it at the default settings and got to some listening.
I started to notice some distinct distortion at certain (mid range-ish) frequencies on certain tracks. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what was going on but assumed it must be something to do with the new amp. Anyway long story short after hours of messing about, I went back into pCP and disabled the Alsa equalizer - and bingo! Distortion gone. It doesn't actually matter to me much as I don't usually use an equaliser, but I just wondered if there is some kind of a problem with the equalizer, or perhaps in compatibility issue with the I-Sabre ES9038Q2M? Any one else experienced anything like this? Any ideas? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hip-Priest's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65855 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111787 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
