Again - BIG THANKS to the entire piCorePlayer team. What a great
contribution.

My goal was to replace several Dell DAR players, looking for good (not
fanatic) quality, with an integrated amp in most cases. I have a LMS
running on a server in the basement. I didn't care much about the
display or remote, but I can see how those features can easily be
supported.

First try was from a Google AIY Voice kit, pi Zero WH + Google voice
hat. It worked easily, but I wanted more.

#2 is a Allo miniBoss hat on a pi Zero WH in the Allo miniBoss case
connected to an existing SMSL Q5 amp . About US$65, and other than the
ALSA setup (which required going far to the right to set some
parameters) it was very to put together and setup.

#3 is a Merus 40w amp hat on a pi Zero WH. The hat sits right on top of
the pi Zero (makes me uncomfortable, so I will get an extender header
with proper pins to put it 5mm or so higher). Again, just follow a
little configuration (see this post:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111787-ANNOUNCE-piCorePlayer-6-0-0&p=993971)
and follow the ALSA limiter setup instructions, connect speakers, and
away you go. About US$52 and good quality and sound power.

I still have a few things to try, but I wanted to report my success and
to say very nice things about the piCorePlayer team.
