Hi,

My systems is QNAP TS-230 running Logitech Media Server ((v8.0.0,
1605892076, Fri Nov 20 21:32:55 CET 2020) perl 5.028002 -
aarch64-linux-thread-multi) with two music players attached over
hard-wired Ethernet. Both players are RPi4 with PiCore 6.1.0, installed
into Argon One cases and connected to standalone USB DACs (one JDS Labs
Atom and the other a Cambridge Audio DACMagic 100).

One of these players runs reliably; I turn it on and it works. The other
has good days and bad days; every time I think I've got it working it
fails again a few days later. The symptom of this failure is that when I
hit the <play> key in order to play something that is in the queue there
is no sound and the play time bar does not advance. At the same time as
one player is failing the other can be playing, so LMS itself is in a
functional state.

To investigate the issue I enabled some more verbose logging and
captured couple of log extracts (see below) relating to an attempt to
play (log extract 1) a Steely Dan track on the malfunctioning player and
(log extract 2) actually playing a Sandy Denny track on the properly
functioning player. I also tried to play the same Sandy Denny track on
the malfunctioning player, without success.

In order to try to get the player to work I have:
1. Restarted the squeezelite player
2. Restarted the Rpi
3. Replaced the SD Card.
Although the first two of these have sometimes got the system working,
on this occasion they did not. The third was a last ditch attempt which
also did not work. I also tried to check the logs on the PiCorePlayer
but was unable to work out which of the logs, if any, might help. I
realise that the fact that 3 above did not work strongly suggests that
PiCorePlayer itself is not at fault here and that an issue with the
network, the RPi4 or the DAC is likely indicated. I would be grateful if
someone could direct me towards and PiCore logs that may be helpful in
identifying which, if any, of these aspects is proving problemmatic.

I am also hoping that someone here with a good knowledge of the flow of
control through the process of setting up and playing a stream will be
able to help zero in on the problem, using the log extracts below, and
perhaps advise on the capture of further and more useful diagnostic
information.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Regards,
Jon
