Can't help one more off topic reminisce:

I remember these. They didn't come close to your tape speeds though. The
paper moved along at 50 bauds and stopped at each traction hole where 5
small steel rods pressed upwards to see if a hole had been punched. The
Company I worked for taught us trainees to read the paper tape at 25 wpm
and to type for the emerging telex service. The typing has remained
useful 50 odd years later and the general principles of transmission and
PCM that is still useful in the squeezebox era. Lenkurt Demodulator was
a fantastic magazine and I used to have bound copies of many years but
sadly they have disappeared.

The Creed 54 teleprinter was so heavy that it took two fit young men to
carry it round the office.
